Our Story
Establishment of Classic Fine Foods
Classic Fine Foods was registered in 2000 and commenced its commercial activities in 2001 by acquiring companies within the Olivier Group. Olivier Group, operating in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, pioneered an Asian network of fine food import and distribution companies to cater to the needs of foreign restaurants expanding into Asia and local chefs seeking high-quality European ingredients.
Expansion into Europe
Classic Fine Foods initiated its expansion into Europe in 2003, establishing subsidiaries to further strengthen its global network.
Expansion into the Middle East
Expanding its reach, Classic Fine Foods entered the Middle Eastern market in 2006, marking another milestone in its global expansion strategy.
Acquisition by Metro
Metro, the leading international wholesale specialist, acquired Classic Fine Foods in 2015, further solidifying its position in the global market.
Launch of TheTasteLab
In 2016, Classic Fine Foods opened TheTasteLab, offering training courses and classes in pastry and cuisine to its clients, enhancing its commitment to culinary excellence.
Expansion to B2C Market
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Classic Fine Foods diversified its business by entering the business-to-consumer (B2C) market, launching the Classic Deli e-commerce website.
Expansion of E-Commerce Platform
Leveraging its digital expertise, Classic Fine Foods launched a new e-shop dedicated to professionals by the end of 2021, targeting new geographical areas such as the Caribbean islands, South Africa, Bahrain, and the Indian Ocean Islands.
Establishment of CFFALT
Classic Fine Foods ventured into the alternative proteins category with the creation of CFFALT, aiming to source exceptional alternative protein brands and distribute them to food service and retail businesses across its various countries.
New branches in Europe & Asia
The year 2022 witnessed Classic Fine Foods' continued expansion with the opening of new brands in the Midlands in the UK, Penang in Malaysia, and Phu Quoc in Vietnam, further strengthening its global presence and product offerings.
New branches in the Middle East, Europe & Vietnam
In 2023, we opened new branches in Exeter, UK, Nha Trang in Vietnam, and Johor in Malaysia. We bolstered our Middle East offering with a new branch in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Expansion into Saudi Arabia
This year we have expanded into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, strategically placing our warehouse in Riyadh, ensuring a smooth distribution of our exceptional ingredients to our customers.
