Embracing a sustainable future is at the heart of Classic Fine Foods' strategy. We recognise our responsibility as a leading fine food wholesaler to not only deliver exceptional culinary experiences but also to do so in a way that minimises our environmental footprint and maximises our positive impact on society.
Our Responsibility Strategy, crafted through extensive stakeholder engagement and alignment with international guidance (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals), focuses on three core priorities: Climate and Food Waste, Supply Chain Management, and People and Wellbeing. With these pillars as our guiding principles, we are committed to fostering a more sustainable, responsible, and ethical future for our industry, the communities we serve and the planet.

Climate and Food Waste
We aim to support our planet and people by improving our operation’s environmental impact, preventing food waste, and implementing innovative sustainable solutions.

Setting a net zero target and carbon accounting
We have established a clear objective of achieving net zero emissions for scope 1 and 2 by 2040 and for scope 3 by 2050. As a crucial step in this commitment, we have successfully completed our baseline year of carbon accounting, with a primary focus on scope 1 and 2, for which we have established comparison data.
We are committed to achieving net zero emissions and have set clear objectives to guide our efforts. As a significant milestone, we have completed our baseline year of carbon accounting, focusing on establishing reliable comparison data for our direct and operational emissions. In the coming year, we will concentrate on refining our broader emissions data to establish a comprehensive baseline. This work is a vital part of our strategy to advance sustainable carbon management and achieve our long-term net zero goals.
Food Waste Project
Classic Fine Foods launched its Food Waste Initiative in August 2023 in partnership with CityHarvest and FoodCycle. This initiative is driven by our sustainability commitment. Our goal is simple: prevent food waste and support our stakeholders.

Supply Chain Management
We want to contribute to a more sustainable food system by improving the impact of our supply chain through inspiring partnerships and responsible practices that support all our stakeholders’ ambitions.

Assessment of our supply chain
We have undertaken a comprehensive evaluation of our supply chain, focusing on the identification of environmental and social risks. This assessment has provided us with valuable insights into the sustainability performance of our current suppliers. These insights guide our decision-making process as we actively work toward fostering a more sustainable and socially responsible supply chain.

Supplier code of conduct & Sustainability onboarding questionnaire
As part of our procurement strategy, we've implemented a Supplier Code of Conduct & a Sustainability Onboarding Questionnaire. These initiatives serve to clearly communicate our expectations regarding social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and ethical behavior. Simultaneously, they enable us to assess potential suppliers' compatibility with our sustainability objectives.
