Introducing Ponthier’s New UK Strawberry & Raspberry Purées
Locally Sourced. Expertly Crafted. Purely Exceptional.
Classic Fine Foods UK is proud to unveil two exciting additions to the Ponthier range: UK Strawberry and UK Raspberry Purées, developed in close collaboration with Ponthier and sourced from the lush berry fields of Perthshire, Scotland.
From Field to Purée: A Story of Provenance and Precision
These new purées are made from 100% Scottish-grown berries, selected through a rigorous process led by Ponthier’s R&D team. After extensive trials and organoleptic testing, two strawberry varieties, Sonata and Elsanta, and two raspberry varieties, Glen Ericht and Kwanza, were chosen for their exceptional flavour profiles and consistency.
Harvested manually at peak ripeness, the berries are pre-chilled on-site, then transported within 24 hours to a nearby facility for individual quick freezing (IQF). This ensures maximum freshness and preserves the delicate aromatic qualities of the fruit.
Meet the Grower: Will Stewart, Perthshire
These purées are more than just ingredients; they’re a reflection of terroir and tradition. The berries are grown by Will Stewart, a passionate cultivator with over 50 years of experience in berry farming. His deep-rooted expertise and commitment to quality shine through in every batch.
Perthshire’s unique climate, long summer days and cool temperatures make it one of the UK’s most renowned regions for berry cultivation, and the perfect origin for these premium purées.
