The Classic Fine Foods Pâté-Croûte UK World Championship – UK Finals 2025
As proud Patrons, we are beyond impressed by the remarkable talent and exceptional culinary skills on display. A true celebration of the finest chefs across the UK.
Presented by Classic Fine Foods, the 3rd UK Finals was held on Monday, October 13th at The Savoy Hotel in London, where nine contestants competed to create their best Pâté-Croûte and have the chance to represent the UK at the Final. Over 120 guests gathered to witness one of the year's most extraordinary evenings.

This year, we had the great pleasure and honour of welcoming Chef Mark Flanagan, LVO, Royal Chef & Assistant to the Master, as President of the Jury and Mr Guillaume Gomez, former Head Chef of the Élysée Palace and France’s Ambassador for Gastronomy and currently chairman for the Gastronomie Conseils group, as guest of honour.
The Jury Panel for 2025 included 20 exceptional names from the industry. Including Frederic Le Guen Geffroy, World Champion 2023 and team UK coach; Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, Master Blender Hennessy; Claude Bosi, Chef Brooklands, Josephine; Calum Franklin, Chef & author; Graham Hornigold, International Pastry consultant; Richard Bertinet, Baker Chef and BBC Food Champion 2021; Tom Philipps, Chef restaurant Story, team UK coach Bocuse d'Or; Kate Austen, Chef; Mark Reynolds, National Chairman of the Craft Guild of Chefs; Rachel Humphrey, Chef consultant Roux; Roger Pizey, Executive Pastry Chef at Fortnum & Mason; Gilles Quillot, Chef de Cuisine at the Residence de France; Vérane Frediani, film maker, photographer and author; Franck Arnold, Regional Vice President and Managing Director of the Savoy; Amy Duthie, Chef Compass Group; Thomas Piat, Executive Chef Searcys; Michael Coaker, University of West London, and Gilles Demange, co-founder of the Pate Croute World Championship.

Each remarkable creation will be judged by the whole pâté, slice presentation, jelly taste, pastry flavour & bake and overall taste – giving a final score out of 200 points for each candidate.
All eight finalists put in fantastic culinary efforts; the talent in the room was incredible. We hope everyone who came to taste enjoyed all the delicious Pâté Croûtes. In first place was Maciej Pisarek, Junior Sous Chef at The Savoy, with runners-up George Fisher of Baxter Storey and Franck Raymond of Augustine Kitchen.

A huge congratulations to our winner, Maciej, for his incredible Pâté Croûte! His winning pâté will compete in the world championships in Lyon in December, follow along his journey till then for the reveal of his stunning work.

This year is the 16th Edition of Championnat de Monde de Pâté-Croûte, and the Grande Finale will take place in Lyon (France) on December 1st, 2025, where he will compete alongside 14 other worldwide winners of other semi-finals (Asia, America, Polynesian, Scandinavia, Mexico and Europe).
