Vinegar is a staple of the Japanese cuisine especially thanks to its versatility. Discover here a wide variety of Japanese vinegars suitable for both sweet and savoury preparations as well as for cocktails.

Japanese Sauces and Seasonings

Japanese sauces and seasonings are perfect for marinating meat, fish, tofu or vegetables before cooking them on the grill or barbecue. One of the most popular in Japan is teriyaki which represents a dish with peking fish or meat.

Dashi

Dashi is a staple of Japanese cuisine. It is mainly made of a broth of kombu seaweed and dried bonito. This broth is traditionally used to make miso soup but is also the base of many noodle dishes as well as to cook vegetables, meat and fish.

Japanese Rice

Rice is the basis of most Japanese cuisine and Japanese rice is a characteristic round and short grain. Several varieties of this rice are cultivated in Japan and it is used to make sushi or maki, it can be eaten in a donburi paired with meat or on its own, sprinkled with furikake.
