Since 1874, the Geay family have been cultivating oysters in the heart of Marennes-Oleron’s basin in France, where the sea and land converge. The company uses their knowledge of the local environment and expertise in oyster cultivation to produce the fleshiest and tastiest oysters possible.
All the oysters are handled by their team of experts with great care: checking, cleaning and turning regularly to ensure their quality and growth.
The Marennes-Oleron’s basin is perfectly located on the old salt marshes that have been cultivating oysters for two centuries, meaning the floor is made of clay and rich in phytoplankton. This creates the perfect condition for oyster farming and gives Geay Oysters their remarkable flavour.
