Prat-Ar-Coum
Prat-Ar-Coum has been cultivating oysters in the Land of Abers, an estuary in Brittany for over 120 years. Using the rich environment around them and traditional know-how, the company creates some of the finest quality oysters in Europe.
For oysters to become “Speciale”, meaning very fleshy, they are reared on farms edged with sheltered deciduous forest in the background of Abers. The water is rich in plankton made by contributions in organic matter generated by decomposition and the infusion of the leaves of the nearby forest in the water of Aber. Oysters are directly spread on the floor and worked with a big boat to ensure the optimum conditions for them to grow.
